Eric Sherman, an attorney, = is helping me out in legal matters related to the flooding at G21. He = said that he called you and left a detailed message. Can you give him a = call, if you haven=E2=80=99t already, and acquaint him with the legal = standing of my lease and loft law?

The = only lease that I have in my files currently is dated from 2007-2008. I = will continue looking around some more but I think that the most recent = copy is in the folder that I submitted to Heather when we were gathering = all of the docs to give to you.

I=E2=80=99ve= been cleaning the loft and purging damaged items and the mold smell is = still prevalent after 2-weeks. The loft is uninhabitable and I had to = throw out my mattresses/bedding, along with a lot of other furniture, = etc., so I wouldn=E2=80=99t be able to sleep here regardless of the = health threats from the mold. I=E2=80=99ve been wearing a vapor = respirator everyday, for 2 weeks, while I=E2=80=99ve been working on the = cleanup in the spac.

I haven=E2=80=99t paid = rent this month and they just sent me an invoice for this month and the = next one. I don=E2=80=99t intend on paying rent until my unit is safely = habitable. I need to make sure that I=E2=80=99m legally protected. Marty = was supposed to call me last Tuesday and I haven=E2=80=99t heard = anything for him or Violet and they haven=E2=80=99t offered me any help = with the cleanup with the exception of the building maintenance men = helping me move my waterlogged and filthy rugs out of the place and into = a storage room in the warehouse.

I need to = know what my legal rights are in this situation and in regards to loft = law. Eric has offered his help and I would appreciate it if you talk = with him. I=E2=80=99ve lost most of my material possessions and can=E2=80=99= t live in my own home. I have to get dressed from my clothes that are = kept in contractor bags, stored in a 55 gallon plastic bin. I got = electrocuted yesterday moving an extension cord that had already left = burn marks from a fire it has recently started...I thought the black = mark on the floor and bookshelf that it was next to was mold or I would = have unplugged it from the wall before I picked it up. I wasn=E2=80=99t = hurt but it definitely gave me a shock that left my right arm tingling = for 20 min, luckily I was wearing rubber gloves. The situation has been = challenging to say the least and costing me time/money and pulling me = away from other work and projects. Marty=E2=80=99s lack of help or = contact is unacceptable. It has affected my quality of life greatly and = I need to strategize the path forward and make sure that I=E2=80=99m = protected legally. Thanks for your help!
