White-Overview Tab A000 — Case Overview & Binder Guide ("Case at a Glance")

GUARDRAIL: WHITE — CASE OVERVIEW

Orientation and navigation only. No legal strategy, no damages calculations, no evidence assertions.

0. Purpose & Scope

This tab is the front door for humans.

White Vol 01 — Case Overview & Binder Guide explains:

  • What this binder is
  • How it is organized
  • Where to go for what

so a new attorney or team member can become fluent in the structure without having to reverse-engineer the color canon or read any internal AI wiring docs.

Behind the scenes, there is a separate technical document called GLOBAL-001 — System Architecture. That is an internal spec used to coordinate AI tools and cross-volume wiring. It is not part of the attorney-facing binder and does not appear as a numbered volume.

White Vol 01 functions as the A000 of the entire binder:

  • It gives a human-readable overview of Volumes 01–12
  • It explains what each color/volume does
  • It points you to the right places for facts, doctrine, damages, strategy, enforcement, and satellite tracks

What this tab does:

  • Gives a high-level overview of the case ecosystem and volumes
  • Summarizes the color canon and volume roles
  • Explains how to read and navigate the binder
  • Points to other orientation tabs in this volume (B001–D002)

What this tab does not do:

  • It does not argue liability or harassment
  • It does not compute damages or multipliers
  • It does not give settlement recommendations or strategy
  • It does not re-summarize every fact in White Vol 07

POSTURE NOTE (WHITE VOL 01 — CASE OVERVIEW & BINDER GUIDE):

This tab is an orientation and navigation aid. It describes how the binder is organized and where different kinds of work product live (facts, doctrine, damages, strategy, enforcement, satellites). It does not take positions on liability, compute damages, or recommend settlement posture. All legal argument, math, and strategy live in the color-coded substantive volumes.

1. Case Context & Binder Mission

1.1 Case Ecosystem (Plain Language)

At the highest level, the binder covers:

  • A core civil case against American Package Co., Inc.
  • A harassment / administrative track (OATH)
  • A bank-facing pattern track (loan/covenant behavior vs conditions)
  • A collection & enforcement layer (liens, equity, receivables)
  • A professional malpractice satellite that would be a separate action

The binder is designed so that a new lead attorney can:

  1. Understand what happened (facts and timelines)
  2. See what claims and damages are on the table
  3. Grasp how strategy and enforcement are being framed
  4. Navigate quickly to the volumes needed for briefing, discovery, settlement, or trial prep

1.2 Binder Mission

The binder's mission is to be:

  • Color-disciplined — each volume has a clear role (facts, doctrine, damages, strategy, enforcement, satellite)
  • Cross-referenced — no orphan tabs; everything points where it belongs
  • Attorney-friendly — clear reading paths by task (e.g., "I need to understand G21 damages," "I need lien capacity," "I need the OATH story")
  • Machine-readable — YAML at the bottom of each tab supports AI collaboration without cluttering the legal reading experience

White Vol 01 exists so you don't have to learn this structure by osmosis.

2. Volume Map — The Binder in Words

A visual map lives in White-Overview Tab B001 — Visual Architecture Map. This section gives the same architecture in text so you can navigate even without the diagram.

2.1 Volume List (01–12)

Quick mental model: 01 = Orientation; 02–06 = Doctrine & Damages; 07–08 = Evidence & Strategy; 09–11 = Enforcement Cluster; 12 = Satellite.

2.2 Three-Layer View

You can also think of the binder in three layers:

  1. What happened?
    • White Vol 07 (Evidence)
    • Red-OATH Vol 10 (harassment facts & findings)
    • Grey Vol 11 (loan/covenant vs conditions pattern)
  2. What does it mean?
    • Yellow Vol 02 (doctrine + Method-2)
    • Brown Vol 04, Blue Vol 05, Red Vol 06 (damages engines)
    • Pink Vol 03 (multipliers & execution tools)
  3. What do we do about it?
    • Purple Vol 08 (strategy, leverage, sequences)
    • Green Vol 09 (what can be collected, and from where)
    • Orange Vol 12 (if and how to pursue malpractice as a separate action)

White Vol 01 sits in front of all of that and tells you where to go.

3. Color Canon — Where Things Live

This is the short color dictionary so you don't have to reverse-engineer it.

Color Primary Role Examples
White Neutral, non-advocacy surfaces (orientation & evidence) Vol 01 (Case Overview & Binder Guide), Vol 07 (Evidence Repository)
Yellow Doctrine & frameworks Enterprise pattern, Method-2
Pink Math & calculators Punitive ranges, multiplier application tooling
Brown Rent restitution Rent-based statutory damages
Blue G21 compensatory Flood, business loss, base damages at G21
Red Freeman opportunity F1/Freeman chain, opportunity-loss modeling
Green Lien & recovery Block 2512 equity, receivables, recovery bands (facts-only)
Purple Strategy & integration Leverage lanes, enforcement sequencing, settlement posture
Grey Systematic pattern evidence Loan/covenant vs conditions pattern
Red-OATH Admin harassment OATH harassment administrative matter
Orange Professional malpractice Separate malpractice case track

Whenever you see White + Star, you're in an overview/orientation tab (like this).

Whenever you see White + Document/Paperclip, you're usually in the evidence system.

4. How to Use the Binder (10,000-Foot View)

Full, role-specific reading paths live in White D001 — Reading Order Recommendations. This section gives a quick on-ramp.

4.1 New Lead Attorney (First 2–3 Hours)

Recommended path:

  1. White-Overview 01 — A000 (this tab) High-level lay of the land.
  2. White-Overview 01 — B001 (Visual Architecture Map) Glance at the diagram of all volumes and clusters.
  3. White-Overview 01 — B002 (Volume Quick Reference) One-line description and status per volume.
  4. Purple 08 — Executive / Control & A-Series Overview See how strategy currently uses the other volumes.
  5. Blue 05 & Red 06 — A000 tabs Understand the two main damages engines (G21 and Freeman).
  6. Green 09 — A000 Confirm there is real recovery capacity.

From there you can dive selectively into:

  • White 07 for facts & exhibits
  • Yellow/Pink for doctrine and multiplier posture
  • Red-OATH for harassment enforcement posture
  • Grey for bank-facing pattern evidence
  • Orange if malpractice becomes a live track

4.2 Associate Building a Motion or Brief

  • Start with the relevant damages volume A000 (Blue/Red/Brown)
  • Use White 07 to collect exhibits and WT citations
  • Use Yellow 02 for doctrinal framing and Pink 03 for multiplier posture
  • Use Purple 08 for strategy language, cross-checked against Yellow/White

4.3 Enforcement / Collections Counsel

  • Go directly to Green 09 (A000 → B001 → D001)
  • Use Grey 11 to understand loan and covenant pattern
  • Use Purple H-Series for enforcement/collection sequences
  • Refer to White-Overview 01 for context and to Orange 12 if malpractice is relevant to fee recovery or collateral counsel issues

5. Guardrails for White Vol 01

To keep this volume clean and trustworthy:

  1. No New Facts
    • White Vol 01 does not introduce new factual assertions.
    • It only summarizes and routes to other volumes where facts are properly sourced.
  2. No Doctrine or Ratios
    • No deep legal analysis or new doctrinal positions here.
    • All doctrine lives in Yellow; all ratio/multiplier work in Pink.
  3. No Strategy or Posture
    • White Vol 01 does not tell you what to demand, accept, or threaten.
    • All strategy, leverage, and "what to do next" lives in Purple.
  4. No Math
    • We do not compute damages or recovery bands here.
    • Those live in Blue/Red/Brown (damages) and Green (recovery).
  5. Pointer-Only Language
    • This volume is allowed to say:
      • "To see G21 base damages, go to Blue Vol 05."
      • "For lien capacity bands, see Green D001."
    • It is not allowed to restate contested conclusions as if they originated here.
  6. Human-Readable First, Machine-Readable Second
    • The prose above is written for attorneys.
    • The YAML below is for AI systems and tooling; it should not affect legal reading.
